"Nothing Comes Easy for Gopmans!"
Lisa Gopman grew up in Ohio and shortly after her 18th birthday, headed for the USC School of Dramatic
Arts. She developed her own humorous college magazine column called "Sketchy Girl" while attending
USC and was encouraged by her professors and friends to take her wacky life onto the standup stage.
She has performed on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, previously won Comedy Central's Laugh Riots,
was a featured comedian on MTV's The Mandy Show, performed in Just For Laughs “New Faces,” the
Boston Comedy Festival, and in Comedy Central's Get Up, Stand Up in Jamaica. 11 years ago Lisa co-
founded Oh My Ribs! Entertainment in Hollywood where she produced and hosted a Friday night
standup show. Lisa also teaches standup comedy to all levels of students. Lisa is very proud to have
officially become a published author with a monologue featured in LGBTQ Comedic Monologues That
Are Actually Funny and to more recently have an essay published in the Madonna anthology Fans Do It
Better Also in 2016, Lisa’s original script The List was selected as the Grand Prize Winner of The Second
City’s Comedy Screenplay Contest. She is thrilled to currently be working on a fun new podcast called
“Superfan” with comedian bestie Jackie Monahan. Lisa is a cervical cancer survivor and is passionate
about sharing her cervical cancer story through her one woman show “Lisa Gopman and the Deep Cervix
of Doom.” She is proud to be an ambassador for the nonprofit Cervivor that works to empower,
educate, and eradicate cervical cancer.
